04   Polar Bears & others

Every day on the ice field is a new chance to see exotic animals of all kind, such as arctic fox, red fox, ptarmigan, snow geese, gyrfalcons, snowy owls and most importantly, the polar bears. Although you can see polar bears in the area as early as June, the prime time to meet them in their natural habitat is during October and November when the population is at its highest in Churchill.

05   Sunrises, Sunsets & the Northern Lights

If you are in luck, the Tundra Buggy Lounge is also one of the best places to see northern lights in action. With its wall-to-ceiling windows and roof-top observation deck, guests can fully witness this natural phenomenon staying indoor. Churchill has on average, over 300 nights of aurora activity throughout the year. Although they can be viewed in any season, the northern lights tend to be most strong and visible during the depths of winter, especially in January to March when the nights are long and skies are clear.
